These past couple of months, my life in Korea has become about my friends. And in particular, my friendship with Silvia. Helen, sadly, left Korea at the end of February to study her CELTA, so since then I have been hanging out a lot with Silvia and trying to get out there and meet new folks and enjoy my time in SoKo. I've been trying to get more involved in events and outtings. during the first weekend of April, I went on a bike tour of Guyngju (the ancient capital city of Korea) along the way I had some good adventures and met some great people. But most importantly of all, I saw some beautiful cherry blossoms and the beauties of Korean spring time.

Team 'Millenium Smile' We cycled together for 2 days and covered a ton of kms. :)

PAGODA!

Biking through the rice paddies! It was warm, but not hot and dry as a bone, best biking weather!

Another good friend I've made this year has been Adira Sharp. We've had goos times seeing punk rock shows, shopping, bitching about Korea and running around Seoul. Unfortunately she is also slated to leave Korea very soon to go back to the Sates. C'est la vie. Her husband, Gavin, is in a great band called 'The Tremmors'. I'll miss her infectious laugh and pescimism. It's fun to laugh with someone else.

Just in time for Easter, the green began to make it's appearance in Seoul. In Olympic park, you can always catch special little moments, such as this little encounter with a wild Easter bunny!
In Korea there is a habbit of abandoning pets in public locations, and you know what they say about reproducing like bunnies....

Enjoying a beautiful afternoon at the park. One thing you can give Koreans is their ability to make large public sculptures and spaces. The bigger the better!

Here is a view of my English class which I have decorated with paper crepe flowers and kids drawings this season. One of the best parts of having a classroom is getting to decorate it and make it your own :)

Saint Patricks day in Seoul is still remarkable large. Those pesky Irish are everwhere! lol! And what better company to spend the day in than a load of Irish people!

Earlier in March I participated in a jewelery making workshop with the
Laughing Tree Gallery. I decided to go all fancy and I've always wanted to create a cameo style piece of jewelery.
Also in March, I went on a booze cruise with my Incheon friends, Jeremy, Lauren, Ferg, mel and Derrick. It was possibly more of an excuse to drink on a boat and less of a sight seeing cruise, but it was still a good time. Except for the standing in line for one of the 3 cubicles on board. That part was actually kinda less fun. Beer on a boat with no toilets, brilliant.

I haven't been overly productive with making art recently. As you can see, I've actually been mostly taking pictures. here are a couple prints that I made earlier on this winter for the V-Art Exhibition and International Women's day.
More recently, I have been working on getting my act together to apply for University teaching positions in Korea beginning next September. It's a very long process.... Wish me luck!
